We are a volunteer-led, non-profit community group getting women outdoors
We operate in Australia's capital city - Canberra
We're a not-for-profit community group, running a range of outdoor activities for women.
We want to keep the outdoors accessible, safe, affordable and available to all women of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, gender identity, experience and culture.

During that time, we've had around 4,100 local women participate in an outdoor activity with us.
We provide accessible experiences, skill-based learning and the opportunity to safely practice and learn with others.
We've gone abseiling, kayaking, done citizen science projects, introduced women to overnight hiking, been canyoning, rock climbing and bouldering, taught women to swim and mountain bike, how to tie a tarp, hiked and kayaked Hinchinbrook Island, gone snow camping and snow shoeing. And much more.
Think of us like the Scouts - only for adult women and those who identify as women.
Women’s Adventure ACT are a Canberra-based, volunteer-led, genuine community group who’ve been running since July 2017.
In January 2022, we moved from the Meet-up platform, because of some not-so-nice contact from several other groups on that platform.

We continue to offer free activities for new members, community events where members are looking for others to participate with (e.g. Bloody Long Walk), Accessability Walks for those with a disability, lower fitness level or injury. If you're unable to afford our membership fee - thanks to the huge generosity of our paid community - we've offered over 32 free memberships from those generous members who paid a membership forward for another woman in need. We also have free memberships for those on a pension, single Mums, uni students or those with low incomes.
Our early days kicked off monthly bushwalks, with an occasional rock climb. We’ve achieved so much more since then.
Over the last 4 years we’ve:

Everything we do is provided through an amazing network of local volunteers.
But not everything is free, like the costs to run this website, our monthly emergency communication and beacon subscriptions, that help keep our groups safe, and personal costs to scope out walks that we plan and run for the group (maps and petrol).
We'd love it if you could pretty please shout us a cup of coffee as a way to say thanks and to help keep our group going. :)
